Alexander Smith "Alex" Laidlaw (13 August 1877 in Edinburgh — died 12 September 1933 (aged 56) in Bradford[1]) was a Scottish sportsman who played both rugby union and rugby league.

Alex Laidlaw, who played rugby union for Hawick, earned one cap for Scotland in a win over Ireland during the 1897 Home Nations Championship.[2] Laidlaw later played rugby league for Bradford (now Bradford Park Avenue A.F.C.), signing in 1898.[3]
Alex Laidlaw played in Bradford's 5-0 victory over Salford in the 1903-04 Rugby Football League Championship tiebreaker.
Alex Laidlaw played in Bradford's 5-0 victory over Salford in the 1905-06 Challenge Cup final at Headingley Stadium, Leeds.
